work (has not proven successful?) for the rental industry. The model of an Alliance of companies
works as we can quickly respond to changing trends, tailor inventory to specific markets, and share
operational and technological successes. Prior to deciding on an Alliance framework, other companies
like Classic Party Rentals USA, Cody Party Rentals, Tim Hortons, United Rentals, and Sunbelt Rentals
were studied to dissect their structure and pull out the best practices of each model. Thus, the
Alliance was formed.
The concept and planning of the Alliance has been in the works for 5 years – focusing on demographics,
geography, market share, and competitive advantages. The Alliance has come to have three main attributes:
• National Alliance and Presence: With a national brand and website, the Alliance provides access to large jobs and widespread exposure across the country.
• Security of a Successful Business Model: The concept of sub-rentals, cross-rentals, job sharing, and team work, out performs (beats) individual work in all areas. Working in partnership with other members gives security against economic changes and industry cycles.
• Collaboration with Other Rental Companies: Having the resources of many talented and successful businesses at your fingertips is essential to success and growth.

The Alliance model is designed to have flexibility – you own 100% of your store and products. It’s designed as a win-win situation: for the Alliance, it’s growing a national group of rental companies and for you, it’s helping start-up or existing rental companies bring themselves to the next level of growth and success.
My personal goal is to ensure members want to stay in the Alliance. There is no penalty to leave the Alliance – it should be a win-win for both parties. I am building this to share my knowledge, grow the value of individual rental businesses, and have fun with this next chapter in my business growth.
